I applied for this job about 2 months ago, heard nothing and today got an invite to a job interview on Friday!! I've managed to push it back til early next week. But I'm really busy at work now (I wasn't when I applied for the job so will have limited time to prepare. What should I concentrate on? The interview is online for 30 mins and they will be questioning me on my competence and experience. Should I mention my salary expectations if asked? I did this before and shot myself in the foot so would prefer not to this time, but how do I phrase it? Thanks

If asked about salary I just say that I wouldn't want to drop what I’m currently
on so would expect at least £X amount.

I’d prepare examples to use when they ask work experience related questions and make sure way they link to any key skills that you want to highlight.

Don't discuss salary in round one. Focus on the job and the company - what they are looking for and how you have the skills and personality to work well and fit in.

Salary talks are for when the job is offered, unless they haven't advertised it at all, in which case I might say, I applied because the role really interests me, but I haven't seen a salary advertised anywhere. Can you give me a rough idea of the scale it's on?

Good luck.
