As in CAF to give to charity?

Ssmiler · 12/03/2024 18:54

What do you want to sacrifice salary for? There are different salary sacrifice schemes approved by hmrc that your employer may offer - eg cycle to work or electric vehicle. Or if you mean that you want to make charitable donations that’s a give as you earn scheme. Or if you’re making payments into a pension that’s different again.

For which benefit? You can salary sacrifice for loads of things

chillberri · 12/03/2024 19:25

Yeah it's a thing.

summertimessadness24 · 12/03/2024 20:14

This would be for a car payment

Ok it's a thing but sounds like they don't offer it. A lot of places do it for pensions

Heatherbell1978 · 12/03/2024 20:26

I get a car through work and pay for it through salary sacrifice. But that's because it's a benefit they offer as a large organisation. It's only something you can do if the company have a scheme in place offering it.

Ilovejammies90 · 12/03/2024 20:35

Car salary sacrifice is a benefit usually given by an organisation as a benefit for all employees or a co-hort of seniority etc

If they don't currently do it it's because whoever is in charge of the employee benefits packages hasn't put this in force

They can review if they want to offer it but they don't have to!

Confused by your question - if they don't know what it is, then they don't do it.

summertimessadness24 · 12/03/2024 22:06

@workoholic like I said in my post they've asked me to email them some info hence why I've asked on here
They didn't just say they don't do it
I didn't have to make any enquiries before as assumed their payroll would know but obviously not

But thanks all you've answered my question!
