Pls help

I am filling a form online for a job application and the system is saying to

Please note your last reference has to be within 28 days of today's date.

Top on the list of my reference date is
20/3/23 - 29/11/23

Second on the list of references date is
4/4/2022 - 29/3/23

Third on the list of my references date is
19/7/2021 -- 31/3/2022

I don't understand what the system mean by saying

Please note your last reference has to be within 28 days of today's date.

I have changed the date of the 1st reference to
20/3/23 - 28/02/24

Which will be within the last 28 days & then it allows me to move on to the next section but then that won't be correct because I left my last job last year November

Does this mean the job only want people who have recently left their jobs within the last 28days?

pls help I need to submit application before midnight tonight.

Can you name someone to act as referee who you have worked with in the past?

willtheypickme · 12/03/2024 18:54

Yes, I have listed all past employees and details for reference.

Can you add a personal reference from a relevant time until present? It'll just be a database field that has properties attached.

willtheypickme · 12/03/2024 19:03

@nodogz oh thanks for that

I can add my lecturers details who have always been in touch with for references for work and PhD.

🤔 I think I will take my last comment/post back because the lecturer is not a personal reference

🤔 I wonder who I can use for personal reference

Other lecturers? Why not use lecturer as academic reference?

willtheypickme · 12/03/2024 19:41

@thesandwich application wants ref with the past 3 years and I have given work ref for the past 3 yrs from 2021 till Nov 2023

And I added lecturer ref last from 2017 till 2020 when i graduated but then I am still in touch with this particular lecturer even up until recently when she helped with my PhD application ref and even before that, I have had several meetings with her and other support and wellbeing officers at the university. These meetings was for a disabled friend with MS who I am supporting and a chaperone for.

I think you can still put down your lecturer as the most recent reference as you’re still in touch with them, it’ll be fine.

willtheypickme · 12/03/2024 19:54

@Changingplace thanks, I will move the lecturers details from last to 1st to reflect the last 28 days but then
Do I now tick the box for personal or educational reference?

I graduated from the university 2020 and she taught me in my undergraduate years which finished in 2019

I would put personal as you’ve kept in touch after your educational relationship.

@Changingplace Thanks you very much
