Temp role

I am in a temp role.

I spent a lot of time out of work last year as age a factor etc 50 plus it’s tough.

I grabbed this.

It is a v strange my boss doesn’t want to show me anything it’s all remote and he wants to retire asap.

I’m covering while they recruit a perm person a job I said I’d not want the perm role.

My boss was v rude to me last week and said things were wrong …they were not and he had made the mistakes as he didn’t read or check properly.

There has been no apology from him just pretending it didn’t happen.

if I’d not had a long stint out if work I’d have given me weeks notice. The tone and way he spoke to me was really rude …stop making excuses he said it was quite nasty!

I work from home and there is no support etc it is just a case of being thrown in muddle through…

It is not a great situation…help? I feel it’s dragging my confidence down I am careful with my work …he’s not apologised and am too old to be taking crap in my 50s.

He is a bit if a male chauvinist too!

I think it’s hard to find a decent workplace nowadays…

How long is this role for? I've temped for years - long enough to know that some managers (if not the majority) are arses and a lot who treat the temps like the shit on their shoe. If it's a few more weeks suck it up and thank your lucky stars that you aren't there permanently.

That's the nature of temping, I'm afraid. I used to sit in some jobs and mentally recite 'one week's notice, that's all I have to give you before walking, matey.'

If it gets really bad i.e you're not being given the info to do your job, speak to the agency.

It’s ongoing I don’t have an end date….as you say it’s one week’s notice !
