I've been looking at / applying for jobs this week. Most that I've seen have no closing date, no hiring manager name / contact details or - for one - even which department you'd be working for (large national company with many offices and job is WFH so not easy to guess) and no salary details etc. The jobs are advertised on a popular job seeking website and simply want your name, address, phone number and upload CV.
Is this the norm nowadays? I haven't applied for a job for 20 ish years and when I last did so, it was almost expected to contact the hiring manager to ask questions in advance of sending the application or even to arrange a visit the office.
What's with the closing date not being shown? One I saw yesterday looked great and then I sat down to apply this evening after work but it's now closed. Surely it can't be right to have to rush each application when you see a job just in case it vanishes imminently?
