Does anybody work as a college lecturer?

Just wondering how many hours a week you work above your contractual hours? Thinking about taking the plunge from being a primary school teacher to a maths lecturer in a college. I do not want to work more than 2 hours extra a night though.

My local college operates 9-5pm for that kind of course, plus evening courses.

However, I would say that I have been for several interviews as a college lecturer (sessional) and each time found the recruitment process very convoluted (interview, microteach, skills tests…) and the requirements pretty high for the hourly pay involved. So although I was offered work I turned it down as it would not have been worthwhile. But it might be better in a salaried role?
