Postie to train driver

My OH I'd a postie and has a train driving assessment next week.
We are looking at mmi questions and we are struggling to look for answers around rules and procedures. He covers a lot of this everyday but not in enough detail to really talk about it. I appreciate that this is a bit of a niche question. Thanks

Does the job come with training? He might not need to know all the answers át interview stage.

Good luck!

For railway interviews (esp driver) the most important thing is that he always follows procedures/safety first always. If he can figure out a way to say that in interview it will help. Good luck. Also good for him to mention that as a postie he is used to early starts & shift work.

He needs to think if an example he can expand on. I think he will just have to give lots of little rules he follows daily

As an example showing this can he use the fact he has to adhere to rules when delivering, ie Special Delivery and some items that must be signed for by over 18’s etc , sticking to RMs procedures.

RailUK forum has advice on this

I wish him luck. I'm a railway geek and would love to drive a train for a living but my eyesight's crap and I'm dyspraxic.😃

It’s not easy to pass, the salary is good. But with any role there are downsides, and with train driving there is a very obvious downside, sadly. I feel much sympathy for train drivers that have experienced this.
