Keep being called to see manager about mistakes

Newish job (less than a year) in a new industry for me so lots to learn. Every few weeks, I’m called in to see the manager about mistakes I’ve made. At the same time, I'm praised and assured that I’m progressing well. A colleague has been tasked with informing management of every mistake I make. This colleague says that I make ‘big mistakes’ but another colleague (a manager) tells me that they are the usual mistakes that people who have done my job before also make. I like the job but now wonder if I am not best suited to it. Appreciate your honest replies!

Take your time and treble check everything even things sent to you that has info you need to use. Don't take it for granted that irs correct.

I have fallen foul of this but then again my boss was WFH and emailed and then called me to ask me why I had hit the return button twice between Dear X and the line underneath! They told me it makes my email look sloppy and can I remember the importance of uniformity of the team.

My eyes are the fittest part of my body as I spend most of my day eye rolling the shit my boss says

Make sure you have access to the procedures - then make notes on training needs - recognize your own short comings and what you need to work on - use errors as a chance to learn from them.

Make notes on issues you keep adding.

Ask for a support buddy etc

Or ask you colleague has been tasked to check on you constantly.

What's the purpose of being called to see the manager - are they then showing you the correct way to do what you have done wrong, or are they just telling you that a mistake has been acknowledged?

It seems an odd set up to me, to have a colleague observe you, notice a mistake, then report it to someone else who then asks to see you. Why can't the colleague either correct the mistake or flag it up to you and explain how to can correct it yourself?

This would drive me demented - what a bizarre way to manage a new employee. Inefficient on their part and must be affecting your confidence. I would hate to feel like someone was watching me, ready to point out my mistakes to management.

Thank you for the replies. It is definitely not something I'm used to. I keep assuming they want me out but then I'm assured I’m doing really well . I cant fathom it.

Sounds toxic..why is a junior colleague watching you. It sounds like they're trying get a promotion by showing how strict they can be
If you feel ok, stick otherwise leave

Sounds hideous and I had 2 colleagues tell taleing to my boss.
In the end I had to say I couldn't cope with 3 people not picking me daily.
It's improved but not stopped.
