Changing job nerves

I've been working at the same place for 7 years. Have lots of friends at work and generally enjoy it.

However a job has come up for same job elsewhere which would be 3 days a week instead of 5 (but longer days so not a huge change in pay).

I feel like I really want to apply but something is holding me back. I'm so worried I end up leaving and regret it. Where I currently work jobs rarely come up as it's a small place so I'd not have a chance to go back.

However it would be amazing have two days a week home and I feel like it would make me a much better parent as I'd have time to get things done and more time to myself.

Tell me your positive stories about changing jobs so I can try and make up my mind if im going to apply Smile

I think it all comes down to how much you value having your time over how much you value your current job. It’s always a risk when you move jobs into the unknown. You may get enjoyable work and great colleagues there too, you know you’ll definitely get the extra time. More people regret the things they don’t do than the things you they do! Good luck!

Apply and make a decision later.
Your heart will pull you in one direction

I left my last job and am in a gap year. My pay was incredibly bad and unreflective of experience, time served, workload.

You seem yearning for change
That says something
