Hi,

Pregnant and currently have a 9 week old, how does maternity pay work? Due to return December 2024 (work in nhs) but not sure how second maternity will affect this in terms of pay, whether to go back earlier (September at 9months maternity so can get paid before 2nd baby is born)

Also, anyone had a baby this soon after first c section

I fell pregnant when baby was 12 weeks. I just started my new maternity when I was supposed to go back to work. So I was off for 18 months. I still got maternity pay from work.

I think your earnings at (please check these numbers) 18-25 weeks pregnant are used to calculate your maternity pay. Maybe look at what that looks like in terms of going back early / pay at that point.

Congratulations!

It’s very soon after a C Section so be aware of the slightly raised risk of complications and the extra monitoring you might require.
