Hi guys,

I'm in higher education (external applicant) at the moment but would like to enter into the civil service.

I'm going for HEO roles but is there any lovely ladies here who could read my examples and give me constructive feedback? 🙂

I have recently been appointed at HEO level. I scored all 6s in the 4 competencies and strengths.
Just going through security clearance.

My main tip is to look at the job description and pull out the tasks that fit with the competency and then check what strengths they relate to and make sure you use them in your examples.

What competencies are selected? I had seeing the big picture, making effective decisions, communicating and influencing and managing and a quality service.

Happy to have a look at your examples, PM them to me. I'm a long time civil servant with lots of experience recruiting.

Well I am using the star technique and using relevant examples using my own experience.
I'm being assessed on thse 5 factors:
Seeing the bigger picture
Changing and improving
Making effective decisions
Managing a quality service
Delivering at a pace
