Anyone know anything about how holiday pay works in a job?

Dp is being told he can only take his holiday as & when he has earn't it, i think he gets about 1.6 days a month running from january-december is this right? or can he take say 2 weeks off over summer?

Is it his first year in the job? If so, yes, he can be made to accrue holiday before taking it. AFter that, it gets more iffy to try and enforce that type of rule.

Does he have an employment contract or is it just statutory holidays? if he has a contract it should make it clear. If it doesnt ACAS is a very useful site?
