You asked whatanenormousturkey a question about counselling courses and placements in a retraining thread recently.
The way it works for me is that my course provider helps me find the placement. They have a good relationship with organisations in the city where I live that enable them to do that. The course is expensive in comparison to others, but I feel that this help, plus the time they spend helping you to set up private practice in the final year, is well worth the additional money.
