Meeting with gaslighting manager to sort issues

Dreading it. Ours issues being we're just not agreeing on things.

I've been with company for nearly 3 years, had 2 promotions and always been spoken highly of. We've had 5 staff leave because of their behaviour.

Anyway due to cost of living, sales are down. I've taken on some of their responsibilities but had no hand over to actually know what to do. I've asked for assistance to go through them, booked meetings in to get the help, always comes in unprepared and meetings pushed back and instead talks about other things.

They're now micro managing and undermining me in front of my staff. Constant negative comments, dramatic out bursts that sales are down due things not being done right.
However they are making more mistakes than myself and staff, doesn't lead by example at all, contradictory unclear advice, speaks before thinks kind of behaviour.

I've said I've had enough, needs to lead by example and listen. But he tells me it's me not listening or understanding properly. (It's not)

Meeting is booked in with them and a more senior staff, worried I'll just get gaslit by both and nothing will change.

I'd leave but trying to find work that is suitable with childcare hours and also pays enough is impossible

There is no way I'd be going into that meeting alone.

If you're in a union, take the rep with you.
