Unexpectedly made redundant.

I was made redundant last week, still within my probationary period, so not much protection there. The role wasn't well defined and my manager didn't value my contributions, so when the business took a closer look, they decided the role wasn't needed at all.

I've never been in this position before. They've offered 6 weeks pay, instead of a trial period in a different role, and ended my contract the same day they informed me of the redundancy.

I've been applying everywhere I can think of looking, and I have an interview tomorrow, but I'm struggling with waves of anxiety and panic!

Any good news stories from people facing similarly would help. Job hunting tips, too? I've been tweaking my CV for every role I'm applying for, to at least pass the computer sift and get a real person to take a look at my application.

This is scary, though.

What job you did
What is your expereince
What job you applying for
What experience of being interviewed you have

I work in training, writing it, delivering it, developing programmes aligned to business strategies, etc. Usually for salespeople but not always.

I have recent interview experience, as I've only had this role for 5 months. It's all a bit exhausting to be back on the treadmill again.

It is worth taking a free month of LinkedIn premium. They have great tips and videos on how to tailor CVs to get past the auto checks, as well as loads of other useful info on applications and interviews. Best of luck..

thanks. what was your job title?

go for the interview, you have loads going for you - at worst they can say no but they can also say yes.

Can you sign up with an agency whilst you look for a permanent job?

I am looking at freelance roles and am speaking to someone tomorrow about an opportunity.

Today's interview ended before it got started, they advertised it wrong and expect a huge amount of travel which isn't possible for me. Sigh. Back to refreshing my emails.
