Hi

Work in a male dominated field, got promoted
Basically other women my grade have tried to deliberately sanotage me

My male manager is taking seriously eg held confrotning conversations, both women given verbal reprimands. Neither have apologised and now obviously ignore me. Hoping theyre being managed out but dont think HR involved

Hoping ends now and can rise above, if doesnt though it'll become me dragged into tit for tat, female drama (urgh). No public spats yet

Examples of behaviours:

  • stealing work from stakeholders told them not to work with me
  • refusal to share BOW despite overlap (when all other teams have, overlap is expected) so cannot jointly work together as needed (project group work)
  • halt me hiring job candidates for stupid reasons
  • phone me up and say not fit for role, shouldnt have been promoted
  • talk me down in management meeting eg ask wiho is leading my team 'you need a leader' and saying '1 in 1 out' when promoted (1 woman left) and laughing (this is HR director speaking)

I'm hoping both women having year end bonus cut and negative feedback will work. My manager thinks theyre threatened. There's glass ceiling at this level - next level is 80% male. Affectinf my health the stress/ conflict. Been promoted since Oct so all in last 4 months.

Any suggestions, do you think its a phase? Ta

Do not get involved in tit for tat. Keep referring all issues to your manager and HR. Hopefully things will calm down.
