Is anyone a Crown Prosecutor?

What is your background?

Do you recommend the job? Why or why not?

I'm a bit downheartened by my current role, I made a sideways move a couple of years ago and it hasn't been as interesting as I'd hoped.

Background: I qualified as a solicitor and worked for several years in a corporate/ commercial firm but haven't practiced for over 10 years since I was made redundant.

I've worked in flexible investigator roles since which has been great for raising a young family but they're growing up and I feel I have more headspace for a more demanding role.

I've been doing some criminal law work in my current post and it made me think about the CPS. Anyone got any insights?

Old thread but wondering did you make any headway with this @SecretLifeOfAMole ? It’s something I’m trying to look into with a similar legal background / gap in practice.

Im not sure what level one could go in as without having done any substantive criminal work?
