Advice needed - returning to work

I'm looking for some guidance or advice regarding returning to work as I haven't put myself in the best position.

I had my son 2 years ago, and have been a sahm since. I have three a levels, one accounting qualification and a diploma in floristry. There are quite a few gaps in my employment history, mostly due to seasonal work, being made redundant, and covid.

I am really hoping to be able to work part time as I cannot afford to put my son in nursery full time and I think it would be too much for him. Has anyone been in a similar position and made it work? Which careers are suited to working part time?

Thank you.

Floristry?

Do you want to work in accountancy? If you talk to local recruitment agencies they will help, there are more part time opportunities than you imagine when you search online. Accountancy is typically fairly well paid too - if you do compressed hours you could manage 3 days a week from say 8am to 5.30pm with a short lunch = 27 hours per week. That would give you 30 mins commute/nursery drop off and pick up.

Also PS many nurseries give a discount for full time places so the fifth day is a lot cheaper. Why wouldn’t your dc cope with full time? Most kids do (unless Sen?)
