Flexi working agreed for six months

After I put in a flexible working request, my employer has agreed to alter my contract so I have two afternoons off per week as my DC is ill and needs help at home. Am I right in thinking that if the hours work ( and I am sure that they will) there wouldn’t be a case to revert me back to my original contract? I think I read that they can’t refuse a change if there are no issues for the business?

Not if the contract states that this is only for a temporary period which it sounds like if the child is ill (as hopefully it will only be temporary). I’ve not heard of a contractual change just for a short period of illness. What did you sign in your contract, was there an end date?

I am still waiting for the confirmation letter at the moment so I don’t know what wording they will have used.
It has been a hard year and , to be honest, if I could stay at those hours it would make a big difference to my quality of life in the future.
