Any mums who travel?

In 2020 we decided to move out of London up to the midlands so that we were closer to family and could afford a house. We had one child at the time and we were lucky enough that my salary could cover my husband giving up work (he used his £££) towards the house. With Covid I’ve been mostly remote ever since and we’ve since had another child now a toddler.
Unfortunately my job is becoming more and more frustrating and I just can’t stay anymore so have been looking for another role. Most remote positions have hundreds almost thousand applicants and I’ve noticed that some roles I’ve been interviewed for, while hybrid are at least 3 days in the office. I don’t mind the travel as such to London every day but the thought of not having the time with the kids for 3 days a week (I’ll leave v early and be home v late) is breaking my heart. I’m also
swiftly realising most companies are doing this so I don’t know that I have a lot of choice. I keep reminding myself that it’s not like we’re both working parents and they have Dad who is very hands on with cooking, cleaning etc etc. At the same time it just makes me sad - are there any mums out there who travel weekly for work and what have your experiences been like?

really interested to hear thoughts on this too @Clareretro1964 as I’ve just posted a thread asking a similar-ish question for the future (I don’t yet have children).

wishing you all the best with finding a job that’s right for you, and your family life.
