I've been in post 4 months, been mindful after x2 disasters in 3 years, so confidence at a low ebb.
Small quirky charity, nice staff. Postive feedback, pay rise, so far so good.
But
I was told to answer more enquiries having been recruited as a project manager. Older colleague has been given several of my cases, as she "enjoys" them. Weird but...
Fine.
When I picked up the helpline last week (answering enquiries) it was our boss wanting a chat with said colleague, he was embarrassed as it was obviously a social call.
I realise colleague has been asking him to work on 'my' project and I guess I'm confused as to whether their friendship will threaten my role as supposed project manager.
I now have to have 'coaching' from the colleague, but have also been invited to a role play sessi9n for the project with boss and Grandboss.
Colleague not attending the rile play.
Is this a good sign? What can I do to maximise my chances of getting the project back?
My instinct is to do nothing, watch and wait but is that just bc I have no confidence anymore?
I am very experienced in the arena and when I input on issues this is not always taken seriously as I am now "just" answering enquiries! I am told "this is being taken forward by xyz senior colleagues".
