Childcare and starting work after a career break

Hi all,

I dont claim benefits, I'm on an unpaid career break. I have a 1 yo and 2 yo. I won't be able to go back to my old job due to the hours and my husband's work. I am trying to work out when I could start a new job. But with two children I would need help with childcare costs. It looks to me like January being the term after my 2 yo's 3rd birthday we would qualify for 15 hours no matter what and 30 hours with me working and would only get 15 hours help with my 1 yo if I'm working. But would I need to pay the whole childcare costs initially until this funding starts or can I get it if I have a job offer? How does it work and how long does it take to kick in. As from what I'm reading it looks like you have to be in employment for 3 months before you can get it. If so that's meansi would need to somehow stump up 3 months worth of fees? Thanks for any help in advance x
