Nervous about starting a new job next week

I'm starting my new job as an applications engineer next week, I have been out of work for 6 months after being made redundant from a job that I was at for 5 years.

I have taken a few holidays during my 6 month break and I am slightly nervous about getting back in to work, I'm joining my local police force as an applications engineer on a 2 year contract. How can I make myself a bit more confident for my first day?

In the same boat. I start my new job on Monday. So nervous. I wish I could fast forward a few months to get this awkward anxiety feeling out of the way xx

Good luck to you xx

It's always so nerve wracking starting a new job isn't it?

Good luck to you both, and congrats on your new jobs 🙌

It can help to reframe it - the nerves are your body's way of preparing you for a challenge. It's a good thing that will help you be more on the ball when you start (as long as you don't let the nerves consume you).
