Civil Service jobs - please help with my basic questions!

I have never worked in the civil service. I need a new pt job and the civil service appeals (flexibility, good pension etc).

I have friends who are civil servants but v v senior and I’m too embarrassed to ask them about where to look for jobs locally (none of them are local to me).

I have 2 degrees and lots of good experience. I also have a child with a disability and parents I care for so I need something that I will find relatively easy (I’m intelligent and learn quickly).

I’d be so grateful for some ideas of pt jobs? In housing maybe? Or anything?

Go to https://www.civilservicejobs.service.gov.uk/csr/index.cgi

You can set up a "job alert" according to your own parameters eg. PT, within XXmiles of a location etc. You might need to do "advanced search" to see the full range. As new roles are added, it will automatically email you the details so you can read and decide if you want to apply.

Edit: to correct web address

Is it civil service specifically or would public servant role also work? Bodies that are arms length from govt can often have similar conditions to civil servants. Try looking at homes England (if you’re in England!) if you’re interested in housing. I think they have various locations
