Still A temp after 18 months!

Started working through an agency in temp to perm role, it’s now 18 months and still temp. Company are ‘struggling’ but are taking on permanent staff to fill leaver gaps. They say they’re trying best to ‘keep me’ but it’s starting to grate on me, especially when my two separate raise enquiries (via agency) have been turned down. It’s not pleasant watching so many colleagues join and getting the benefits I don’t for such a long time considering ‘I’m a valued team member’! Any advice very much appreciated 😊

Look for a new job. Temp to perm jobs are a myth. I’ve learned through experience that they never go permanent.

In fact I’d go as far as to say they’re a bit of a red flag, usually advertised by employers who either don’t know what they want, or have a reason to not commit to it permanently.

Feel very disheartened at the moment especially as colleague who is full-time perm is hardly ever there and I’m taking up the slack being part-time!
