How are you supposed to integrate into a team where the person training you is prickly as hell and the rest of the team are like family and just don’t want to know. I’m so fed up, time to change jobs are has anyone got any advice?

Sounds rough! How long have you been there?

Parsnipooh · 18/01/2024 16:54

A year!!

This article covers it perfectly!!

You know when you don’t fit the template - but there shouldn’t be a bloody template. I understand how maybe customer service needs certain skills etc but it’s not that it’s like just me as a person even though I’m professional and friendly.

It’s like a library manager wanting a team of cheerleaders if that makes sense.

Wow, that article hits the nail on the head.
Many's the time I've felt that I didn't fit in with 'the culture' which also spilled over into long boozy lunches on Fridays and then coming back to allow the few of us who didn't partake, to take up the slack left by the social clique.

I left in the end as , having had my first child , I was almost persona non grata.
My only regret was leaving the 50 something male , a wonderful man, who spent all his life caring for his disabled mum , to these awful people who laughed at him behind his back.

Definitely think you need to move on op! I think a year is honestly a fair try. If things aren't changing, I think start jobhunting (unless it's amazing money for short hours or something)!
