I was eating my dinner, and thought "Xenia would be pleased for me"

Not long back at work as lawyer, negotiated a document today so was feeling pretty pleased with myself - and came home to dh who had been with baby all day, and had managed to make homemade soup and Gordon Ramsey chicken!!! And the baby had salmon and mash!! And the kitchen was clean!! And some ironing done!! Am a bit overexcited at the amazingness of this (pre-parenthood, we have previously lived on ready meals and take aways when dh in charge of food). Can it last???

God, tell him he's rate-busting.

Ha! I did think, what are you doing?? But I think he was trying to be nice. I did get along quite well feeding us on mat leave without any Gordon Ramsey. And ironing without showing anyone the ironing or talking about it.

He has passed out now, must be exhausted.... It will be beans on toast tomorrow.

He has all the childcare/housework responsibilites now - I have been asking for a cleaner since forever, and today he found one!! In months and months of me being at home, he was blah, we'll get one, soon. But my dinner was EXCELLENT. And there is ironing. And it is done!!
