I am currently in a school only been at my current school teaching a mixed class of year 1/2 and really hate the workload I’m working from the miniute I walk in, working and marking through my lunch and working afterschool till I leave. And although I leave about 4 most times I take work home like extra marking and I do planning from home I’ve been given maths which is 5 lessons a week and they want combined lessons for year 1 and 2. Benefit - 3 min drive from my house.
I gave notice in applied to another job which happened to invite me for an interview today as a nursery teacher and got offered few hours after interview. I basically accepted.
but the drive is very far. I will have to leave earlier in morning and it will take me sort of hour to come back home after work.
Im hoping for a better work life balance.
