I am NHS full time employee, I am unwell therefore unable to report to work today

Considering the circumstances, am i required to provide daily updates to ny manager every morning regarding my health? At what point should i present a sick note if my recovery extends beyond a couple of days?

I can't find my comtract to find sick policy. Your guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

You self cert for 7 days (please check this - including a weekend, then will need a fit note from GP).

Search it on the .gov website as it's employment law, not per company/establishment.

Get well soon!

I'll have a quick look if nobody awake lol

Hopefully that helps.

Daily update required unless signed off for a set period of time, by a doctor, after 7 days of self certification.

Depends on your service, I am also NHS but we need to report when off sick and report back when returning to work. First 7 days can be self certified but GP fit note is required unless you can return to work. Managers may contact you periodically just to check in and provide support as needed.

There's nothing like feeling ill and also anxious about phoning in sick! I've got a supportive manager but it still feels pants.

I've messaged daily but when it was clear I was going to need a few more days I just said, I'll be back by x date. On one ward I worked at preciously you phoned in once and then again when you were well enough to 'resume'

Don't need a fit note until 7 days.

Hope you feel better soon

We need to call every day, unless covered by a for note from the GP - which is usually required after 7 days, including werkends/none working days.
