Applied for around 10 jobs over past 6 months and not had an interview. I've been in my current job 17 years and moved into a quite a senior position 15 years ago. I'm applying for jobs in a different sector but one that I volunteer in and have provided evidence of transferable skills but still nothing. Just feeling a bit down about it really. My formal qualifications aren't partially great however Ieft school 25 years ago

Honestly don’t take it to heart it’s so easy to apply online we get swamped with applications and it’s sheer luck whether you are in the 20% we look at. Plus half the jobs someone is earmarked for and advertising is just a sanity check. Personally I’ve only ever had luck with specialist recruiters or personal introductions as they filter out the not real jobs (companies can’t mess recruiters around too many times). Any industry networking events you can network at? Slack channels or community forums?

Don't lose hope, keep applying. I made about 120 applications in 3 months, it's all numbers game which always works out in the end

Should maybe add that only 10 applications out of these 120 were for my industry/role because it's very specific and niche. Everything else was for other industries where I had transferable project management etc skills

I don't think applying for 10 jobs over 6 months is very many.

I know applying for a.job is almost a job within itself sometimes, but 10 jobs is nothing.

If you've applied for more than 50, 60, 70 without getting an interview, then something may be wrong.
