Any CS recruiters or recent interviewees have any tips or advice on an SCS1 policy job interview in a big central department? I’m an experienced G6 so not new to CS interviews but will be up against experienced G5s and want to give the best possible account of myself.

Watching this as I'm hoping to be in the same position soon! Good luck OP.

My experience was that I had to have 5 hours of psychological assessments. Then a feedback session with the psychologist. Then 2 interviews, all for them to give the job to the person they planned to all along! I did get put on the reserve list for a year for any other job at that grade (can't remember the details) it was 18 months ago, so things may have changed since then.

The psychologist stuff was really interesting to be fair. Felt a bit overkill though.

That is intense. We're you offered a role in the end?

No... After the farce of a selection process I got a better paid job elsewhere!! 🤣
