DS 17 PT time job

DS has a PT job for 2 hrs on a Sunday morning. qualified level 1. No training yet...happening early January.

DS works under a level 2. She does not instruct him. She just complains about him. endlessly. I am also level 2 qualified and have been in to observe /support. I have seen things he can improve on, obviously, but he isn't putting anyone in danger. He isn't reckless or mean-spirited. Given very little direction, though.

I also work with level 1 people in same industry. i have many years experience. I instruct, advise and train my level 1. I don't run off and moan at the manager because she doesn't need to hear it.

I am really fed up of the moaning but never actually doing anything constructive to solve any issues that may arise. They moan at manager and manager then moans at me. I then have to discuss with DS who is often completely unaware of what's happened, because Noone has explained to him.

There will be training early January, but it seems to me that this level 1 wants fully trained assistants and not newly qualified ones... nearly all in the department are newly qualified.

I'm at a loss and sick of the moaning.
So now I'm moaning on Mumsnet...

what can I do? Thanks for reading.

None of them should be talking to you about it, they should be communicating with him directly.

Other than you're in the same industry I fail to see why/how you're involved at all.

Step away and let your DS be treated as an employee - the good and the bad bits.

yes, I agree, but it has given me the opportunity to see the low-level bullying and others' inability to train young employees.

thank you.
