Work in the NHS in a Band 5 administrative role, the salary isn't great but it has always worked around my circumstances of being a single parent as I have a flexible working agreement in place.
We have been told owing to "business needs" working from home will be revoked and this will mean I either have to go part-time or leave, I am in the process of finding out what this means re my flexible working arrangement but it is a long and drawn out process.
In the mean-time, I have been looking to see what was out there and had found some similar roles which I applied for.
I got selected for interview for one of these posts and today have received the unconditional offer.
My current job is as it stands:
2 days, 3 days on site
2nd spine point on Band 5 salary (just over 30k)
Employer has always been reasonably flexible if I have had to take carers leave or leave early because of DD (illness etc)
Toxic atmosphere currently and low team morale
40 minute commute each way which is done 3 days a week currently.
New job will be:
3 days WFH, 2 days on site, any 2 days I can choose but ideally between Tuesday - Thursday which works perfectly fine for me.
I would offered slightly more than the spine point I am on now (32k)
Obviously untested waters regarding flexibility as I have not worked there.
A few people from my existing Trust have made the move to this organisation in recent months.
60 minute commute each way which would be done a maximum of 2 days a week.
I am just not sure what to do, the 60 minute commute makes me feel anxious, but it is only twice a week and would be on the core days where my DD is already in after school clubs which run until 6pm.
I could have the flexibility to WFH, Monday, Wednesday and Friday also.
It's just.... change isn't it.
