Data entry/document typing/remote jobs - are they what the job title suggests?

Does anybody do any data entry / document typing remote work?
Please may I ask, despite the obvious title, what it involves?

Do you enjoy it?

I left the NHS over a year ago due to finding it too much, too loud, and very stressful after 18 years, and my skills covered reception duties , data entry and health records before the Trust became paperless.

I am now looking for remote work so that there is someone at home constantly for the dog and to work around dh’s hours.

Probably not, no. Are they ridiculous hourly rates for an hour a day? they'll either involve you funnelling money through your bank account or getting involved in crypto. Neither of which is a good idea.

Go onto Indeed, search for the sort of jobs you're looking for and sign up with a couple of local recruitment agencies.

All that, or you don't get paid. Or you have to pay for 'supplies' which never arrive, or they send you it back as part of 'money' which later bounces after you have paid others so that you have to stand the loss at your bank, which may well cancel your account for money laundering.

I write from home for a company called Search Sciences who I'm very happy to recommend. The workload is interesting, varied and flexible and I work entirely from home around my childcare responsibilities. Various other options are regularly discussed on the Earn £10 A Day thread on here.

Add to which you have no idea who these people are or where they are and what happens to the ID and bank account info you'll have to send them.

I wouldn't touch the company that was so helpfully posted, either.
