This person is working for us in a freelance capacity in a creative role. They have turned in work on time and been enthusiastic but their work is, how can I put it.... a bit of a heart sink. Other freelancers we have on the project send in work that is exciting and funny, which is what we want.
There are absolutely no contractual issues. The contract is very clear that the company can break ties with the person if work is not deemed satisfactory. They are a really supportive company (I'm working freelance for them, managing the project) and I know they will compensate the person for the work they've put in.
They want me to do this by phone and avoid putting anything in writing. Your tips much appreciated. Had an anxious night about it last night and want to start getting it clear in my mind.
