Job Dilemma which to choose.

I know I've posted a few times about my work. But I am really stuck about what to do.

Which job should I choose?

  1. Current employment. I work in a school- and my wage is a decent 52k a year. Term time only. I am home by 5 every day. Not a very difficult job, but the manager can be a nightmare and micro-managing me.
  2. I was headhunted for a pretty serious strategic role - wage is 60k+ a year. But f/t. decent annual leave and perks. Lots of travelling.

For context, I have younger kids and also older teens/young adults at home.

I have worked out the wages and after tax, NI and pension the difference per month is about £350 extra with the higher wage position.

WWYD?

The school time off, with younger kids especially, would be more appealing to me. Depends on how miserable the micromanaging makes you though I suppose.
Would you be off for a good chunk of the Christmas break with the new role? When you say lots of travelling do you mean daily distance to work or away for days at a time for the job? Neither would appeal to me tbh. Who wants to spend 3 + hours a day commuting? Getting in at 7 or 8 due to traffic would be my idea of hell.

Thanks. I am so confused. So the second job is a Social work one whereby you oversee the plans for Children in Foster care. It's an independent role and you travel to chair their review meetings. But only every 6 months for each child
