Jobs after Teaching?

I've worked in secondary education for 17 years. I want to leave and ideally have a job working from home. Any ideas?

Private tutor? - doing online/remote tutorials. Would require lots of effort to get the work though I'd imagine.

Retrain? Large companies (where you'll be likely to be able to work from home) sometimes run training schemes for career changers and/or graduates. Downside is the pay will likely be less than what you're earning now (at least to begin with). Upsides would be predictability.

People I know who were teachers did this, and some went and did a further masters degree to move into another area.

I suppose it depends on your subject area too. If languages, you could look into freelance translation; for English, copywriting / editing; etc. etc.

Good luck, whatever you decide!
