Teachers that have relinquished TLR

I'm not a teacher but a school governor who sits on our pay committee. My understanding is that you can only relinquish it if your HT agrees. Our HT is usually very amenable to such requests as long as he has got another option for covering the workload. Have you raised the matter with your HT?

Hello no I haven't discussed it yet. I'm in a 2 person department and the other person definitely doesn't want to do it. It's causing real issues with my health

Discuss it with HT, then put it in writing formally resigning the TLR with an end date.
Unless the advert you applied for had the TLR on it, I can’t see how they can refuse.
