Job Taken down from Website but interview tomorrow?

I've just been brushing up on some preparation for my interview tomorrow so went onto the Employers website to read through the Job Description (again!) it now says the Job is no longer being advertised. Does that mean it's gone? Or already had enough applicants? Worrying a bit here as I'm really keen on the role!

No it'll just mean applications have closed. Good luck

Unless it's a continuous advert for multiple roles, job adverts are normally removed when the deadline closes and the employer moves to the shortlisting stage. If you have an interview, you have been shortlisted - the advert being up or down is irrelevant.

You close the advert usually, then shortlist, invite to interview and do the interviews.

Continually open adverts can be a sign of high staff turnover, inability to find/secure right candidates for reasons such as not paying enough. Or of massive growth. It being closed is more likely a positive thing.

Thanks both! I just had a wave of panic there, interview confirmed by them late last Week so all still going ahead. Phew!

They have their applicants and dont want anymore. Now they will interview and choose from those interviewed. Nothing unusual about this, dont worry.

StillWantingADog · 03/12/2023 19:36

It fine if just means they have more than enough applicants and don’t want any more for now.

it can be annoying if you want to remind yourself what the job actually is though

I use to take any ads down when I thought we had enough desirable applicants otherwise I'd just get snowed under.
If none of the applications worked out I'd repost the ad , sometimes with a slightly different / clearer description in the hope it attracts different people .

Good look with your interview.

If they've shortlisted and scheduled interviews then most likely they'll have taken the advert down so they don't get anymore applicants.
