Dismissal during probation

Just wondering what my rights are really. I have a meeting on Monday to discuss my role - basically was brought in to manage a project, promised I could run it myself, however I wanted to - but the reality has been very different. Main director (not my boss) is interfering, critical and moody, to the point where if I ask or question anything on a chat group she ignores it then ignores me. My boss is nice, patient, said she likes the idea of me just making my own judgments. I had my first appraisal session with her last week and nothing untoward was mentioned - she seemed happy. I’ve subsequently been taken off the project I was running, they’re having meetings about it without me but nothing has been told to me directly! Now I’ve been called in to “discuss my role”. So if they say that’s that, do I have any rights seeing as I’m on week five of probation?

No, they can terminate the contract for any reason - or no reason. The only comeback you'd have was if they were discriminating against you for a protected characteristic.

Fingers crossed they're moving you onto a different project rather than letting you go. Good luck.

Thanks for replying. I thought so. I wanted to leave but being pushed before you jump isn’t the best feeling! I’m trying to rise above it, main boss seems to be playing at running a business and is v bad at people management -retention appears to be a difficulty.
