My DS is going for an interview in his old high school as a TA he is taking a gap year before he heads to uni. . He finished his A Levels this summer and is turning 19 in December .
He has a gf though in year 13 and knows a lot of people from the year and will go out with them on nights out. He won’t have anything to do with sixth form with the prospective job but I’m worrying that ethically it’s not right

I would tell him to disclose this at interview and follow up with it in an email.

The school need to decide whether this is appropriate or not.

I think it may be an issue cos they'll want someone who can work across the year groups, surely. But ask the school for guidance. Whatever he does he shouldn't try to hide it.

Honestly, I doubt very much they'd employ him anyway as it would be assumed he'd still be friends with students.

I also think he's too close to this. Not appropriate. But he should discuss it with them.
