Hi everyone,
Just wondering how long people have waited to hear back regarding their CTC check. It has been over 10 weeks for me and I am getting a bit nervous. Application shows 'in progress'.
Thanks so much!

I work for a company that needs staff to be put through CTC and from what I understand the Govt team that process the applications are swamped so it's taking longer than usual.

If you don't have significant issues in your history then really don't worry about it. I've seen people go through successful applications with major financial issues, criminal records and all sorts. As long as you've been honest on your application that's the main thing.

Can take months 🙄

They say 12 weeks I think, quicker if you're really boring and can take longer if you've got a more complex life.

I wouldn't worry about it, CTC is the "you are who we think you are..." check, so long as you told the truth and were transparent it'll be fine. Govt recruitment/onboarding checks are moving much slower than usual for new entrants at the moment (I think it is because of capacity issues).

You could query it with the department you're joining just to find out what the hold ups are, it seems to be at different stages of the recruitment process for different departments 🤷🏽‍♀️

Mine took 6 weeks, but I've heard of people waiting months for it.

Mine took over 4 months (earlier this year)

Hi all

Please can anyone provide insight into the CTC checks as I currently going through the process.....In my previous role I have hade long sickness due to my father being diagnosed with cancer...im wondering if this will be an issue for me when they contact previous employer

I am also worried about the financial aspect of it - as some people say they don't check you financial history for CTC clearance ...only for DV and SC ....which are high levels of clearance....I have had 2 CCJs which I paid off and have had defaults...will this be an issue for CTC Clearance ? particularly as they ask have you has an significant financial difficulties?

Please can somebody advise me on this ...as Im really worried...I have also started a new job but dont wanna tell them about this role as I may not get it.

The main thing is to be honest. And show you have dealt with or are dealing with the debt:
Good Luck!

CTC clearance doesn't involve a deep dive into your finances.
