Things haven't gone well at my current job, I came back too soon from maternity leave and got depressed. Failed at most aspects of my stressful job (project management). We need the money so it's not an option to take time out. I have a new job starting in the New Year. How on earth do I put this in a box and regain my confidence to succeed in the new job? Anyone got any stories of doing this themselves successfully?

Yes. I was able to get more sleep so it was easier to learn new stuff and concentrate. It was actually wonderful to have a new start and every thing went much better than I expected. I went in with a fake some confidence until the confidence came back attitude. I also made lots of notes when people were telling me things. So my advice would be to try and somehow get enough sleep, and good luck, hope it goes well!

I took a step down the career ladder then tried the step up again in a new place a year later. I knew what could go wrong for me, so I didn't make the same mistakes a second time and knew what support I needed to put in place.
