Hey all ,
Ive been delighted to have been invited to an interview for a clerical role in the nhs . I am already in that same division but not hospital based but a similar role . This would be in maternity and since having my baby in feb I’ve been so passionate about being part of this process in some way . I did discuss this in my application . The only issue is it’s my working day the interview . I don’t want to let them down after 3 weeks , nor do I want to rock to boat . I was relatively new to the role and then went on mat leave as it was a surprise pregnancy . This is a role I share a great passion for which I really did home in on my application . On the job description it stated no other days will be available for Interview . Does this likely mean they have someone else in mind? As I won’t then waste my time upsetting my own manager who I haven’t really got a bond with yet , thanks all xx

I would assume it meant that its the only day the interview panel could do - probably due to working commitments.

Generally they won't offer an alternative day as they want to do all the interviews in one day. I wouldn't assume it means they have someone in mind.

Is taking half a day of annual leave an option ?

I am an internal applicant myself , I did ring the interviewer and she did say it’s hard to be taken away from clinical roles to do them another day . But she said will try and sort something ! so at least I know I made the effort to call and ask . It will be my third week back after 11 months off , I darent ask for leave . Plus my colleague is having a small op next week and if I was to be off as-well that day , there would be no admin at-all. So leave would likely be declined anyway . I do always wonder if they have people in mind for these posts as I did rush the application as I had my baby with me . But I am in a similar post but in a different part of the nhs and I possibly put some stand out personal things . This would be a wonderful thing for me .
