Work stress assessment booked while signed off

I have been off work for 3 months due to stress , due to return in three weeks.
OHS have recommended a phased return and for a work stress impact assessment to be conducted.

I have received an invitation to attend a Teams meeting with my manager to conduct the assessment next week.
Am I right in thinking that this should not be conducted until I have returned to work?

How can they make adjustments for your return to work without speaking to you before you return to work?

I don't think it's an unreasonable request if it is to plan a phased return.

Agree with pp, this meeting is to plan your phased return

SoddingWeddings · 23/11/2023 11:54

No, this is normal. They need the guidance from this appointment for you to be able to return to work.

Ok that’s great, thank you.

Just had a similar experience. It was a really positive meeting with my LM to look at how best I could be supported on my return to work.

I agree, best to do it sooner so any risk assessment can be put in place for your return.

Hope you feel better soon

I agree it needs to be done to plan your return. The only thing which surprises me (I am not an expert but have experienced this once) is that's it's with your line manager. Have Occ Health already proposed timings and phasing? IME, occ health set those and then my work plan was set with my line manager to fit the schedule.

I have a neurological condition and a brain aneurysm- I’m not a malingerer, wish I was! But thanks for that @Firebug007

@MaggieFS oH have recommended a stress assessment and phased return. I have no issues whatsoever with having the discussion with work, it’s just that I was not clear as to when it was to take place. Your response has been very helpful, thank you.

Thank you to those who genuinely responded to my question- much appreciated. As for the other responder- go troll somewhere else.
