How to get over the post interview cringe

Had an interview for an internal promotion today and have fallen into the trap of replaying the interview in my head over and over again.

I keep cringing thinking about my examples and that they weren't strong enough.

Doesn't help there's only a few roles available and triple the number of people interviewed.

Feel a bit down about it all.

Maybe try writing it down and scoring yourself.

At least then when you've finished the task it can atop going around your head.

Don't! I had that, even had a dream about one of my answers! Made the reserve list and offered another post a few days later.

Nothing can be done now the interview is over but whether you get the role or not ask for feedback on the interview.

Just open the wine and try to take your mind off it with Netflix.

I also re-enact situations where I fucked up, mainly in the shower, when I’m hormonal. I am pretty sure I once joked myself right out of a job. That was twenty years ago. I have no advice on how to get over it, because it will all be stuff you already know. Like women are our own harshest critics, if it won’t matter in five years it doesn’t matter now, blah blah. I think it’s probably a valid process, in some ways, supremely confident people with no self-doubt are hard going. It’s just how you frame it, eh. I never made the same mistake again, that’s one thing.

Probably just draw a line under it, it’s a new day tomorrow (or in 2043) chalk it up to experience and hope for the best 😜 good luck!

Thanks all, will definitely be asking for feedback when the time comes.

I've got a tub of ice cream on the go to console myself.

My brain drives me nuts the way it does this!
