2 weeks since interview no update

Hi everyone, I had an interview on 30th October, this was the first face to face interview as I had a virtual one before that. I then had the final stage interview 2 weeks ago today.

im 100% sure I haven’t got the job but they told me they’d get feedback to the recruiter for me in 2 weeks. Today marks the 2 week checkpoint. I asked the recruiter yesterday if she heard anything and she said not yet, but apparently the hr lady was returning to her office yesterday so hopefully it will be soon.

im just a bit impatient as I want to know what the feedback was so I can improve going forward. I’m also aware that if it was good news I’m sure I would’ve heard instantly, I hear those that are successful usually get offered the job on the same day or a few days after. With 2 weeks it’s almost definite I haven’t got the job which I expected anyway, but I’m getting so impatient waiting.

how long does it usually take to hear back from a final stage interview?

I’ve mostly heard within 24 hours, usually the same day if I’m offered the job. But had an interview last year and they took over a week to get back to me, and that was a no.

No news is good news imo.
Or you could be 2nd choice and they are waiting on first choice to give an answer.

It's not over until it's over. Good luck!

And I had to wait 3weeks for my last one because the manager went on annual leave and then had more interviews once he returned.

The interviewers could be on annual leave or sick etc

I think this is a case where no news is good news is completely inaccurate. As you’ve guessed it’s almost certain you’ve not got the job. If I’ve not heard on the day of or day after I consider I’ve not got it and I’ve always been right. Best thing you can do, as painful as it is, is look for more opportunities. Good luck.

Thanks everyone, I’m 100% sure I haven’t got it, I think I knew I was way above my head at the first interview!

it’s just frustrating waiting so long for the feedback, I’d really like to know where I went wrong as I had good feedback for the first 2 interviews which is how I got to the final one.

I was told 2 weeks as they had others to interview and the managers were going abroad for work the following week. However definitely should have heard by now as it’s exactly 2 weeks today since that final interview

So I still haven’t heard anything! It’s been 16 days now… should I just wait? I don’t want to send another message to the recruiter and seem annoying, as she said she’d let me know when she knows anything ?
