Should I move jobs while TTC

I am unhappy in my job but not sure whether to stick it out in case I get pregnant quickly (I am 32, 33 in a few months so I expect it will take a few months at least) or move jobs but then I risk getting pregnant fairly quickly - worst case during my notice period if we keep trying.

my maternity pay at current place is just statutory and I understand even if I wasnt entitled to enhanced or statutory at new place I would get maternity allowance which is basically the same (so either way I am going to have to use savings / rely on my partner during mat leave ) - my worry is more how it would look going to a new employer and getting pregnant quickly (or even finding out just before starting!) and also about how difficult it would be being pregnant in a new job, or even if the stress of it would mean I struggle to conceive (on the flip side I am pretty stressed in my current role but I am comfortable and know what I’m doing).

The stress depends on your job/field (and you).

It's mildly frustrating to recruit someone who then disappears on extended leave (more so the smaller the employer), however most people get over it and forget. It's just one of those things.

Financially it sounds like it makes no difference to you either way.

If you don't get pregnant easily, how will you feel in 1/2/5 years if you're still in the same job?

Look after your interests. You could either stop trying and find it really hard and regret the missed few months or not get pregnant and be stuck in a job. Or you could switch to somewhere with better mat pay, maybe take a little while and end up getting better mat pay and being in a happier job. But perhaps don't join anywhere tiny, but if you do they have to suck it up as it's your rights.
