FND ; Work and health issues causing me stress

I’m employed as an administration assistant for a large team, working mainly from home. The Manager wants to develop the role for me to take minutes of a meeting both via Teams and also in another office every few weeks. I’ve not taken minutes before so obviously am apprehensive. There’s no free car parking for admin staff so I’ll have to pay to park. More recently I’ve suffered a FND seizure and for anyone who knows about them, my god they hurt.

I’m worried about telling work and don’t know what to do? I’ll need to be able to drive to the office so confused as I’m worried they will think I’m just saying it. It’s been 10 months since my last seizure/spasm.

What would you do? Not thinking clearly right now.

Does work already know about the FND?

So you need to tell them you can't drive now? I think you need to have a conversation with your line manager in the first instance.

Why wouldn't they believe you? If they don't already know about the FND then they might need more careful explanation so they can understand (i.e. what is FND, what does it mean for you at work, what support do you need).

In terms of practicalities, check whether you are eligible for support from Access to Work: www.gov.uk/access-to-work

@user628468523532453 Yes they’re aware. The majority of the spasms/ seizures happened during my working day. There’s no line manager just the Office Manager. He’s not the most understanding man as regards women and health issues. I’m also concerned my colleagues will moan at the potential of more work coming their way.
thanks for the link, I’ll take a look.
