Offer of job

I accepted an offer verbally via a call on Monday for working in a school office. I haven’t had an offer in writing yet and obviously hesitant to resign in my current role before I have this.

How long do you think I should leave this before I follow up? I thought I would have something in writing by now.

Follow up now!!! I'd have done it on Wednesday but definitely now so you can get the letter today

Yeah I’d follow up ASAP. Tell them you won’t be handing in your notice until you have the offer in writing.

I had this once where an employer took absolutely ages to get the formal offer letter out but expected me to resign; they kept calling to say it would be ‘fine’ for me to hand in my notice but I held on and told them if that was true then why not just issue the formal letter?
